Cam sensor leaking

hey its me i am having a problem with the max. The sensor that is on the Timing chain cover is leaking. Very badly! I would like to just reseal it if possible instead of replacing it. Does anyone know if that is possible. I will be attempting to seal it with black silicone, Gasket maker. let me know if this is a bad idea or an alternative way to repair it.

Yes, it is very possible to replace the o-ring without purchasing a brand new sensor (that's wat I did and had no problems so far). Just find appropriate size ring and you are good to go. Well unless, sensor has an internal leak- start with new o-ring first, drive a bit, check if still leaks, in this case just buy a new sensor and get it over with. Easy on the bolt!
