I've been wanting to convert my map and dome lights to the led boards for awhile..
Anyone have a good source for bright boards that drop right in without much modification??
Anyone use the boards they sell @ autozone and if so are they much brighter then stock??

Did you use plug 'n' play leds or solder a bunch of them in? It looks really good, but the mismatched the led in the temperature slider kills it.

I see my next "quickie" mod

Now I know some people solder in leds with resistors and some get premade units that just screw in. Which did you do and what are your sources. I.e., if you created them, where did you get your parts and if you bought them, from who?

If I were to solder a resistor to a led for the climate control, what ohm resistor would need? I know there is a math calculation around here somewhere but I can't find it.
Can anyone give me the answer or post a link where I can find it?

There all soldered in. I left all the stock led's in. I wanted the slider and selected functions to stand out so you only have to glance down to see what mode its on. I need to do the cluster as I have cheepo pepboys 194's in there and also a few random switches and the clock. I get all my leds from a local shop or vled.com

I only replaced the 3 main lights that are in the plastic holders. I also sanded down the the led's to distribute the light evenly.

the dome light and doors are plug and play. When you buy the dome off ebay, it comes with the connectors. Like those below, but I have 2 12 SMD panels that are wired together, when i bought them (from a different seller, and had different wire connectors), the connectors for the wires, and bulb adapters were bad, so i had to resolder everything and said F it and used both panels. I have a 36 coming in for the map light. The doors are just T10 Led bulbs

Red Cellophane over the clock will turn it white, a few other layers will make it red, theres a thread on it around here somewhere.

Like the red theme, dome lights white leds??

Wow there is some nice work in here, cudos boys! Haven't been in the 4th gen forum in a while. Here's my old 97 cluster, the first one I ever did, 5-6 years ago:

Defrost and hazard:

And my silly, not at all bright dome light. It looked cool though haha:

So cheap to buy decent premade ones now-a-days though. I sell them as well as another member on here, plug and play with fantastic results.

P.S. and OT, I'm still madly in love with those tailights Kev, I wish I had the time to do my 5th, I don't think anyone's done it on the 5th yet.

That looks really good. IMO the 4th gen gauges only look good when you use one single color LED. especially the non digital gauges. I tried red for needles and Blue for cluster and they looked purplish in the center of the clusters.

Where did you get the LEDs for the window switches? I like white the color and brightness, you have a link to where you purchased them? I never got around to doing my windows switches.
