help with fuel level sender

Question,
Should I install the rubber gasket under the sender cover with or without some fuel resistant sealer like Permatex 2B ?

Thanks

If you are talking about the o-ring that's on top of the tank when you remove the fuel sender unit, there shoul dbe no need to replace it. It is recommended and it does not cost much.

If u can replace an o-ring then u might as well. They cheap and its jus due diligence to replace.

Yes, I am referring to the rubber o-ring that's on top of the tank when you remove the fuel sender unit.

My question is do I use any type of lubrication or sealer on this ring, something like Permatex 2B to make sure the gas fumes can't leak through?

If Nissan suggests sealant in that location, it will be called out in the FSM. Did the one you removed have sealant on it?

I do not recall using any sealant in that area. The o-ring should be enough to seal it properly. When you took it off, it should not have any sealant there.
