How do I make an upgraded headlight harness?
I did a search already, but did not find how to make it. I don't want to spend $35 and wait for shipping. I am good with this kind of stuff, so if someone could give me a labeled diagram, I was thinking I could throw one together for pretty cheap.
Thanks,

from my understanding, you purchase the upgraded harness and splice it into your stock headlight wiring harness. i don't know if you are an electrical engineer or anything of that nature, but i think making your own headlight harness isn't worth the time...
I realize that it can be bought, but I was thinking I could save some money and give myself something to do, other than typing or sitting in front of the TV. And what does this harness consist of? Is it not just a couple of sockets and some wires?
This just came to light for me because one of my bulbs went out and I was thinking about upgrading.
Thanks for th input though.

I was planning on making upgarded harnesses a few months back, the cost for parts was going to cost more thanthe $35.00 that it cost to buy a new harness.
If you want to make the harness this is what you need todo:
you will need two relays, and various connectors and wires
1. tap the stock harness, either with a plug-in 9004 socket or by splicing the bulb harness
2. tap the low beam wire and run it to your relays trigger prong, you'll want the realy to draw from the battery for 12v+. run the switched 12v+ to your new 9004 socket.
3. repeat this step forthe high beam with your second relay.
4. make sure all your grounds are usuing larger wire, I used 12ga.
5. repead this step for your other side
that's it. many have also just upped the size of their ground wire and found success in that
you do not need to know how to mold plastic

Some people just try upgrading the wire, but the good upgrade harnesses use larger wire that is controlled by relays. Some of the cheaper ones you have to splice into your headlight wires, which is pointless in my opinion.
