Clutch Life

I had my clutch replaced last October and I think that it is slipping already. I didn't replace the first one until 35,000 miles and two years. I got this OEM clutch installed at the dealer. This one has been about 10,000 miles and a little over a year. How many miles have you guys gotten out of your clutches?

I have 65k and my original clutch seems fine... Although it's a little rough engaging when its cold outside... I think they're supposed to last way longer than 35k like in your case... Something else must be wrong...

I'm at 50K on my 97 Maxima with the original and no slipping at all. I have a 90 Accord with 140K miles, an 89 Mazda 323 130K miles, and an 89 Mazda 626 with 135K miles...all on the original clutches. The 626 however is on it's way out. The clutch will slip from time to time which leads me to believe it has something to do with the hydrolic mechanism.

are you breaking in your clutch properly?

did you get the oem clutch or the "key Value" clutch?

I have a 97 GXE with 90,000 miles and a 99 SE with 56,000 miles. Both original clutches, neither have slipped. I've been really hard on the 97's clutch. Racing (track) reguraly during the summer. Slipping, dropping, etc. I've expected it do slip for quite some time, but it hasen't yet.

i am still on my first clutch and it feels fine, i do not drive it that hard or really ever drop it at high RPMs, im at 62,000 miles and hope to go alot more on that. Also does anyone know if replacing a clutch can be done without shop assistance? thanks eric

Are you driving it really hard or doing burnouts and spinning tires alot? It jsut seems like your not getting as long out of them as you should be. Do you drive it real hard?

I only get to drive the car maybe three days a week soooo when I do get to drive it I typically drive it hard. I live in the city so I have a bad habit of racing from street light to street light, often times against myself
