Redneck Repair is...

Bend the 3 prongs slightly... VERY SLIGHTLY BARELY NOTICEABLE so that they leaned up against the contacts in there so they get at least a decent connection in there.
Make sure you get that grease off them first the metal has to be able to conduct electricity. Those 3 prongs are how the MAF gets power !

Do you know how to solder?? When you get some time solder those prongs back onto the contacts and save yourself some money.
Thats what im doing and my pocket will love me for it :]
How did you solder those prongs back onto the contacts? For the prongs and contacts to make contact you need to have that base connector screwed back onto the MAF casing. With the base connector mounted back onto the MAF casing there's no room for a soldering iron. Did you take the square top piece off the MAF casing?

I removed that base connector several months ago when I was cleaning the MAF sensor. After bending the prongs and remounting the base connector I've had no problem with the MAF, but I don't want to wait until it fails.

ha. i did the EXACT same thing. you know what i did? i got solid copper 18 gauge wire and cut 3 lengths of it to 1.5", soldered them to the co-responding contacts, and re-assembled. took 10 minutes and it worked fine afterwards.

I've seen people pry the square black top off of the MAF but unscrewing the connector and pulling it off is a first.. for me anyways.

Sorry you had to be the one.
Using a razor blade, mini screwdriver, and soldering iron I got the MAF sensor fully functional. Just use the razor blade to cut thru the insulation on the square black top, then pry it off using the mini screwdriver. Under the top peice is a metal shield covering the mini PCB. After removing the shield I soldered the tabs of the MAF connector back onto the contacts of the mini PCB.
