alternator brushes are going whats cheapest best brand??

Thinking of getting it off rockauto.com. I need one that can last under heavy loads, i can full diode, volt reg and brush rebult for about $105 at a local shop. Not a bad deal at all... But if i can get a new one for lik $50 more im down for that just cause there is a good chance it will last longer. I feel bad cause i wanna support a local business and they seem like nice guys but it is almost more then half the cost of a new or rebuilt one.

So give me some reilble ones that are inexpensive. I wanna really get a HO alt(audio guys like me chime in) but im set on spending $500 bones on one, i only got a 1500w system and 3 batteries and really dont go to competitions at all so i dont see the need for one.

Also with 3 batties yes i know the alt is gonna be under a heavy load but my big 3 is done so i dont think it matters.

Hey also make sure that your maxima doesn't have the recalled alternator problem. After spending $800 with the dealer 2 months ago (they didn't even fix my damn electrical problem), I did get a new alternator under recall from nissan. Even though my old alternator was working just fine.

With my I30 I called Infiniti directly and just skipped over the local dealerships. They just needed my VIN to know about the alternator recall.

I had a squeaky belt from the alternator and was just going to change the brushings. They were machine pressed though and I could not get them apart. Just had to get a new one.
