I think I have a bent front axle

So I hit 110+ in my GXE. And while I did that the car passed 208K miles and some weird noise came from the right side. I used the low gears (1, 2, drive w/o overdrive, than overdrive) and i shifted on 7200. Can you guys tell me what it is? I need help with it

Are you hearing a sort of knockin sound? here's what I did (Jack right side of your car up give tire a firm shake, if you hear a knock it can be that your bearings are gone on that wheel) again that is if your hearing a knocking sound while driving

Don't 4th gens redline at 6.5k...

And, why disengage overdrive? Someone correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't that simply give more torque by taking longer to shift?

As for the knocking noise, I have no idea.

Thanks guys. and it's sorta of a knocking noise but not loud. It's more like a bit of whirring. Yes it's at 6500 but I took it to 7200 cuz I didn't take it out of second while doing 75 MPH.

Holy... Do you want your car to die?
Anyway, im not sure how you went to 7200 as well, because mine just bounces the RPM limiter. However, with the sound, might be ur tranny. Go by dealer or mechanic, and for ~$100 youll have a 100% sure answer.

if your noticing a "moan" or a "growel" thats a wheel bearing they can also squeek.what ive discovered is that the overdrive is for fuel millage only the lower the rpms the less fuel you use. if i want to accelerate a little hard i always turn it off cuz im not really concerned about milage you were right about the shift points but there longer wit the overdrive off (race button)

Well isn't that just the smartest thing to do? sorry to sound like an *** but thats very noob of you.

Whining sounds can be anything from a wheel bearing to a low fluid power steering pump with a loose belt.

Knocking can be a separated belt in your tire or damaged tired with a bubble, unbalanced rim, possibly bad axle but I doubt it unless it clacks when you're turning. A bad mount could give off vibration with a hint of knocking as well.

Oh and about your sig pic... dude dont get citgo!! Maximas dont deserve cheap gas

Check the big carrier bearing that supports the two pieces of the passenger drive axle. You'll need to get under the car and look right up behind your power steering pump.

I hope you dind't do this on public streets! Why isn't the point here I guess .... but it is a noob thing to do for sure.

You give us NO descriptive detail to possibly help you. Your title says "bent axle" ??? Then you brag about topping your car out (no doubt not on a track, since it wouldn't be long enough to get through all the gears of an auto). I am not usually one to say this, but what ever you did, sounds like you deserve it.

jebus man, downsize your sig, will ya?? as far as speed racer's problem, you never need to turn off o/d, and if you admit to driving like an azz off track then you'll get no sypathy from anyone in here.
