loud noise above 120km's
i had got into an accident about a month ago... when i got my car back, i drove it above 120... and at around 130km's upto 160(the max i pushed it to this month) well it starts making a louder and louder noise, from the right side, like a screw is loose or something...
Very odd.
Anyone ever experience this? i'm really not sure where the sound is coming from. When i drive upto 160 and change from 5th to neutral, the noise still exists. Once i get down to around 120-130, the sound dies off. sh!tty part is that it's winter now, getting much colder... so i can't really just go under the car and check it out.
any ideas?
i'm tryign to think of what could create a consistant sound, while rpms are at nill, speed is at 150(for example) and i'm in neutral.
booooo!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks.

Wait for a warm day and get under neath the car on the passenger side and look for any thing that looks out of wack..like a screw lose, or the emergancy brake line not secure to the car...could be alot of things...
Does it happen when going over bumpy roads ?
how many mph ??

oh.. haha i'm in canada
uhm 120 kms is about 75 miles an hour.
my basic cruising speed.
if i start going above i guess around 78-80 miles an hour, i can start hearing that weird noise. builds up louder and louder. my first reaction was to hit my passenger side dash and see if something was loose. nothing hapenned.
any idea if maybe it's something spinning too quickly at that speed that could generate that type of sound? like a belt or a... i dunno?i can be in 4th flooring it upto 95 miles an hour and the noise will be there... i'll put it into 5th and noise will be there.
car has 80k miles on it it's a 96.
i'm bad with the names since i'm still learning as i go... but could it be something around the cv joint area? since it's one of the only components i can think of which would spin at a continuously progressive speed as i go faster....?
ugh i wish winter wasn't around the corner, i could just go outside jump under the car and check it out. it's colder out now... ack!
Thanks for the replies so far, i'm hopeing i can narrow and pinpoint exactly what could be going on
as fo bumps and stuff, the noise will still be there. if i'm going 120-130 or under, then the noise will not surface at all.
