Shameless youtube/blog plug...

This is a headers vs. y-pipe thread... So why not a sound comparison?

Vid 1, stock manifolds, warpspeed y-pipe, high flow cat, cattman 3", and a pretty sweet exhaust leak

Vid 2, OBX VQ35 headers, high flow cat, cattman 3"

more vids/details on my blog in the sig.

But they don't scare women and children like my old setup did, it had a lope at idle and a deep grumble that put fear into everyone, the drone was the only drawback, it was getting annoying and it was time to move on to something else, it was a very fun stage in my car's life, I won't go back to that (well I can very easily, I'm one bolt away from a deep grumble and lopey idle sound), but I don't look on it in dissapointment either, fun times, fun times...

Well damn i heard that stock 3.0 headers were better flowing than the 3.5 headers and most people swap the 3.0 headers to the 3.5?... Now i am debating on whether or not to upgrade my headers... which i probably will but later later down the road

Probably stock for stock... No pre cats in the 3.0

do the 3.5 obxs equal length headers fit the 4th gen?
For the price they look pretty good to me

IIRC, the Budget stainless steel y-pipe for the 4th Gen adds about 15whp & 18 ft-lbs of torque. The Budget stainless steel b-pipe adds about 8whp & 10 ft.-lbs of torque per dynos shown on motorvate.ca some time back. I have been trying to access the threads in question on motorvate for a year or so but have not been able to do so.

Does anyone have the motorvate.ca dyno data?

b-pipe isnt a part of headers.... or how about you look at recent dyno, this changed the past 5yrs... ppl are getting 20+whp from headers now that they can have the 3" to compliment it

a tad bit of exaggeration here and if you are a noob please disregard this part of the message... they both make power... and noise if you wanna be technical, however one makes more power than the other

K know that the b-pipe isn't part of the header and I don't care about a header dyno. I have a Budget stainless steel y-pipe installed in June 2004 on my 95 SE and just wanted someone to confirm the dyno #s for it. I can't access the data on motorvate and don't know where else to get it.

Thanks, I was able to access the y-pipe dyno data. It looks like motorvate didn't do a b-pipe dyno. The figures I had in mind must have been posted on the .org.
