Auto to Manual Swap, some questions.
Hey all
Finally going to do the tranny swap and have some questions! Yay! I have read the how to for auto to manual and need some clarification. A link to the how to: http://www.vqpower.com/v2/articles.php?article_id=44

Note: On a factory car w/ 5speed there is a spacer that is ? of an inch thick that is on the inside of the firewall. The 2 bolts that are on the clutch pedal that travel through the firewall go through this spacer, and somehow you will need to recreate it (VERY IMPORTANT!! that you get it just the right size, maybe buy the spacer from Nissan).
Question:
Is there a part number for this spacer or what have people used to get it just right?
Quote:
2.15 Remove the 12mm bolt that holds the top of the break pedal on.
? Hopefully you have bought a matching bolt from Nissan, if not take it to the dealer and get one. You can't install the clutch pedal w/out it.
Question:
Anyone have the size, thread, etc so I can get a bolt from a local hardware shop? or part number? Or I guess ill have it taken out and grab a bolt the next day, just wanted to do it in one shot.
On a side note if you guys have any tips/tricks don't be shy
Thanks!

Hey bro. I cant be much help but im considering doing a swap myself. I'd be interested in some updates on this thread regarding your progress. Any tips or the like would be much appreciated.
As far as your parts go, I would spend the few minutes ( or hours) it might take to get your parts from the dealer. I hate doing that cuz you pay way more than they'e worth but they should only cost a few bucks. Hope this helps
