Do i need a VAFC2 with an RPM switch for my 00VI?

This may be a noob question, but i have an 00VI setup with a Summit Racing RPM switch activated at 3k, i've been reading for more power or better tuning a VAFC maybe in order.
Can the two of them work together or just use one or the other? In your opinion which setup is better?

The summit is fine for activating the VI. If you plan on tuning then you want to switch to a VAFC-II since it tunes and is capable of activating the VI.

Also 3k is way to low to be activating the VI. You want to have it set between 4800-5200rpm. Unless you've dynoed your car and saw otherwise.

Why would people say not to get it? The VAFC-II is a vtec controller also. Anything that can activate a device based on a given rpm will work.
