HELP!!! Stillen rear sway bar problem

ok, today I got my rsb from stillen via Fedex. I decided to installed it tonight and I mess up. a couple of question. Where should i install it? Behind the beam, rught under it of closer to the front of the beam. Second question, I thightened every bolt and the brackets does not come it contact with each other. The nuts does not even go all the way through. There is a white plastic on top of the nut that blocks it from being thightened. What should I do? SO right not it's on the car and it's loose. I run over train tracks or bumps and the whole thing clacks. third question, should the last bracket closer to the rear of the car be behind or in fron t of the last screw. Basically where should it be mounted. I read that the rsb is a great investment in handling. so i want your help..Pictures would be great. thanks.

the beam is suppose to be behind the axle not under it and the "white plastic" is to keep the nut locked tightly on the screw so it does not come loose.

Nismo, so you are saying to place the rsb in front of the axle beam? Will the brackets tighten up. Right nowit seems as if the white plastic part is makeing it loose. Anyone pics. Byt he way, STillen gives out horrible installtion instructions.

I thought you said that the nylon insert was suppose to keep the screw from coming loose? Do I tighten it past and through the nylon insert? How hard would it be to tighten it past the insert? thanks.

well the whole point of the nylon insert is when you tighten the nut, the nylon insert would lock onto the screw and hold it so it wont shake loose. Kinda like using lock-tite on the screw

tighten it through the insert

if that is the case, i should just go out to home depot and get the same size nut without the thread. By the way the brtacket are just 2 pieces right, b/c in the stillen's provided picture it looks like 3 piece. 1 part in the middle of the bracket. Hope that is not the case.

you can go and get the nuts from home depot but without the inserts then they may come loose overtime due to vibration but I guess if you check on them once in awhile to make shure they are tight then its ok. Im not too familiar with the stillen so you may want to just ask someone else that has the stillen because this is as far as I can help you.

You shouldn't need to purchase any additional hardware. The nylon locking inserts (white plastic) will do their job without any additional hardware. Just crank the bolts down so they thread on through the nylon opening. When you do this, the bolt threads cut fresh grooves in the nylon, holding the bolt firmly in place, like a lock-washer. Done deal.

If you want to adjust the bar, just loosen the bolts, adjust, & re-tighten. -Simple as that.

Again look at this:
http://www.greghome.com/Greg's%20Garage/1999%20Nissan%20Maxima%20SE/Rear%20Anti-Roll%20Bar.htm

On each side there are four blue brackets that go around the trailing arm. They are grooved so that they only fit one way. Their are long metal tubes that go into the holes of the brackets to give the bolts a snug fit.

The bottom bolts also hold the sway bar, whereas the top just clamp the pieces to the trailing arm. To adjust the RSB, just loosen the bolts (don't undo) and slide the brakets along the trailing arm to move the sway bar to the desired position.

Did you check to make sure you have all the correct parts? Also, when you say loose, do you mean that you can't get it tight or that the bolts are too thin for the brackets?
