Alternator question

If you turn your car on and leave it running. Open the hood and take off the positive battery terminal.. and your car dies... is that a sign that your alternator needs replacing?

Shouldn't the car continue to run on the alternator without the support from the battery? (IE Positive terminal)

You're probably right ... as long as everything was OK before. There are a few other things that could also cause this. Best to check alt at Autozone etc. Have you had to jump start or charge the battery lately ?

Yes it should still be running provided you have the A/C off and your headlights. Once disconnected, engine should keep running. If it cut off like you stated, your alternator is going bad. Was your battery and brake light flashing intermittently???

Yes you are correct, and if the battery and brake light are on while the e-brake is DOWN and the car is running + it dies when you undo one of the battery cables then its positive your alternator is bad.
