just changed my starter yesterday and when i started the car everything, the next day when i was actually going to take her for an ride i noticed the CEL, then when i checked it the next day (it was late at night) i noticed that i had not connected an plug that goes on the bottom see picture below



i took everything apart and noticed that it was not correctly put in ..

any clues if it could be that or something else that might have triggered this..

Yes good chance that caused the CEL, go to Autozone and get the code read.

 

Sorry for answering so late but that is the intake temp sensor, its a simple little thing if you feel around the air ram thing and follow it towards the filter box you'll find it connected right before the air box.
