Tachometer needle 300rpm off from S-AFC reading?
Had the S-AFC for about 4 years now and never had an issue. Went through various gauge (indiglos) and needle coloring changes. Well a few months ago the needles had faded so I decided to touch them up using the permanent marker method. When I got everything back in the car the gauge rpm's are reading 300 lower than the S-AFC. Does anyone know what might have caused this to happen? Tried zeroing out the gauge with various methods, i.e. messing with the needle, still reads 300 off. Didn't bother me for the longest time, but now that I've fallen back in love with the ole girl I want it to be dead on. I've had the car for 10 years and just finished off my leather swap with i30 leather door inserts, armrest cover and wood grain. It almost feels like a new car......almost. As always, any assistance in this matter would be much appreciated. Thanks.

SAFC -II is correct assuming you have it feeding off the signal from the coil pack(ecu. Our tachs are notorious for being off from the factory. The 5th gen more than the 4th gen.
But yours is on the low side, where typically is opposite of what is the norm. Could have been all those gauge swaps.
