Keylessride remote wont program.

Well I picked up a keylessride remote for my 96 max since I didnt get any remotes with it when I bought it last year. I can get the hazards to flash when inserting the key into the ignition 6x. but then when I turn it to acc and press the lock button on the remote nothing happens. The led on the remote flashes but the hazards dont. Also sometimes it doesnt take 6 inserts into the ignition to get the hazards to flash. Its done it on 3, 4 and 6 insertions? Whats the problem?

Maybe you have the wrong remote? I don't recall any factory remotes having visible LED's.

You may have 2 problems. 1- a flakey ignition switch [sometimes it doesnt take 6 inserts into the ignition to get the hazards to flash. Its done it on 3, 4 and 6 insertions] and 2- the remote may not be the correct one for the car. The FCC id for the remote should be stamped or molded into the remote's case. The FCC id for a 97 Max is A269ZUA078 which I think is the same for all 4th gens.

I have to aggree with Dennismik & oldngivout, about having the incorrect remote. It sounds like you may have been sold one from an aftermarket alarm system that will probably not work with the stock keyless entry/ alarm. I also just ordered a new fob off eBay actually got it for $11 and change and it works great.

Ill have to call up keylessride.com tech support when I get back from my trip but I was looking through posts on keyless remotes and found a thread on keylessride and the remote that user used has the same fccid as the one I recieved.
