quick caliper install question

so the two caliper slide pins (front) - one of them is solid steel, the other has a rubber end. they are same length. which goes where?

also, when installed the caliper should have enough room to slide 1/8" or so on the slides, right??? why are the friggin autozone calipers too big? there's not enough room for them to slide in the caliper bracket - this will cause the brake to hang/stick, right??

AZ caliper are a piece of crap... Take them back if you can and rebuild you original ones... or buy calipers from somewhere else.
