auto maximas -> A basis of comparison

Since I finally got the time, I decided to make a nice little excel sheet of all the times I have been to the track. The link is right here http://www.buffalo.edu/~rvb/timeslips.html . Couple of things not mentioned in the sheet are;

1. I was stock till 8/2.
2. 8/23 - 9/6 : added intake, exhaust. (yea i know the times were bad, but the weather was quite humid at the time)
3. 10/29 : added y pipe. mods at this point -> hks intake, courtesy nissan b pipe, hks muffler, hi flow cat, bidget exhaust y pipe, sport shocks and springs.

And please dont flame. I have every single time slip whose time is posted. I just figured it would be a nice baseline comparison for automatic 4th gen. maximas out there ranging from stock to what i have so far.

Looks good. I ran a 15.4 my first time at the track. I hope I can bring my time down a little more the next time I go to the track. What year Maxima do you have?

Thats a good resource for automatic guys. I have two questions though.

1) Are those 60's typical of the autos?

2) How did you decide on orange and green as a color scheme?

1. nope, the 60' can be a lot better. i've been running on the worst of tires the entire time, so i know my 60' was affected a lot. the next time the track opens up, i'm going to aim for a nice 2.2x 60' time.

2. just thunk of it on the spot

oh and i have a 96 GLE. and the times from 8/23 and 9/6 seem slower than the previous times cos we were bracket racing. i ended up winning 2nd place!

I usually see 60fts of 2.3 and 2.2 on my auto, but im not stock. Deezo has ran a 2.2 60ft in his stock 4th gne. Timeslip available on that. I know there are many members who pull at least 2.3 60fts. This times were gotten w/ normal street tires.

I use to see 2.4 & even 2.5 60fts until i learned the best way to launch my car. I think 2.2 60ft is great for autos. Almost as fast as a 5spd launch.

How do you launch your auto, I would like to break into 14's, but have not been to tha track (I am always out of the country). Do you guys think it is possible with Y/Cat/catback (apex), intake, z rated tires (on 18's though), if not its nos and VB time.....

All those are good for a 15.2. NOS will push you into the low 14s.

Cool, thanks... Looks like I might have to go for the NOS and VB, I'll probably go with a 75 shot or so, tranny cooler, VB, and a new fuel pump, and possibly some new plugs, thanks for the info guys...

should never be one of the first mods.. if you every decided to buy it.. even the UDP owners said that recently in a thread

right, thats why i waited until i got an intake, exhaust and y pipe. i wanted to get the ecu, but its a little expensive for right now, hence this.

I havent ran 15.2 yet but only 15.3 on a 2.3 60ft with high 90mph trap speeds.

As for low 14's, that was done already. You were there.

I usually brake torque the car at teh track. I launch at 1500rpms and leave it in "D". With those mods and 18's, 14's will not happen. With that set-up im sure you can pull at least 15.4. If you ran 15's, that would help alot.

I only know two auto 4th gens close to 14's. One was Jim W (but now has A6 2.7TT) and ran 15.1 & Medicsonic was tapped the time he mentioned above.

I tapped 14's since summer but i am also juiced.
