Shimmy at about 80-85

I dunno if this should happen or not but at about 80mph i get a slight shimmy in the steering wheel...it's an on and off thing...sometimes up in the 90s there is no shimmy....could it be mounts or what?....any help/

Try rotating the tires from the front to the rear and the rears to the front. An unbalanced tire/wheel assembly can cause the symptom you're talking above. If that eliminates the problem, bring your car in to a tire shop and have them do a dynamic 4 wheel spin balance.

I got it at 70mph recently...

...tires n rims are to new to be at fault. I have yet to figure it out. But I think it has something to do with alignment.

haynes repair manual is your friend steering wheel vibration is caused yes by tires which if you rotate will fix the problem if that dosent fix it it could be a loose or worn wheel bearing , worn tie-rod ends, or worn lower balljoints
