another "help im a lowering my car noob" thread

Agreed. Especially when you have members from different states. Someone in Florida probably would like a totally different setup than someone from New York. The only true way is to link up with a fellow org member from your area and take a ride in their vehicle.

That being sd, if u go to low u run the risk of premature failure of parts associated with the axle. Also, if u plan on going really low, u need to spend extra to ensure longevity. If u get anythin more then a 1.4 inch drop on the front invest in AGX or illuminas or just get coilovers.

im doing the custommaxima 2" drop on stock struts temp until I have the money to buy new struts, I am going with the KYB's I think, they rode great in my old Altima, unless anyone has other suggestion that might be better. I live in the mountains, so performance is a must, but the roads are pretty crappy around here and riding on 18" wheels, I could use all the knowledge and opinions of the specialists

Ive got GR2s w ksport GTs....great ride/stance id highly recommend them pluse i get the set of gr2s for $170 and srpings for $150 so pretty cheap too as long as ur strut mounts, bushings and bellows r still in good shape.

i just saw this thread for the first time and i will add some input. I havent had all teh suspension setups evAr but i have dealt with the best of them and my advice is, just save up and get coilovers seriously, for those looking for modest drops just buy some Tien basics, they ride comfortable and are adjustable to an extent.
if you INSIST on springs and struts which is kind of like throwing money away if you ask me, I have dealt with eibachs, H&Rs, Maxspeed. Out of all of them i would not recommend the eibachs at all, they are harsh and unrefined. Their performances is decent but they are overrated IMO. H&Rs would be my springs of choice for those not really looking for a low and dont really care about it, but they perform great and are very livable day to day. Maxspeeds are also good springs i have no complaints about them.
i have only dealt with 2 different struts which are Konis and AGX, and really even when i ride/drive other cars, just get konis, the really do have a very solid planted feel. They are expensive but they cannot be beat. Even the all mighty Bilstein are coming second to konis these days. AGXs are good but harsh, they have the koni performance but cant match that comfort.
If you really want to have a good suspension setup, get ground controls and Konis, call it a day, its the best thing we have available aswell as what most other cars have at their disposal(this is essential a "coilover").

A really good suspension setup on our cars is not to drop it more than an inch and a bit, coilovers or spring/shock setup.
How people here can run 2+ inch drops with essentially OEM replacement struts and call that a great riding setup is beyond me.
