exhaust problem(loud sound)

exhaust problem(loud sound)

im kinda bad with the exhaust trouble shoot...so need some help

when on a highway going 70mph, i let go of the gas pedal then rpm of course go down...i hear a loud noice from the muffler...i have an auto...sound kinda like a race car..what should i check to stop that sound??

take it to a muffler shop and have it checked out on a lift.

Or just jack up the car somewhat and let someone rev it. You'll easily be able to pinpoint where the leak is.

given the car is on the east coast.. it's probably rusted out.

Most common seems to be the flex section after the headers. But I had the guts of the muffler collapse - all rusted inside - but that was just slightly loud, not 'race car' loud.

Chances are it's your muffler but like others said just get a friend to rev it up and crawl around the car looking or feeling air.
