Starter re-grease

My starter is not squealing, but I think it is turning a little slower than it recently did. Has anyone ever re-greased a quiet starter to find it spun a little faster? Im gonna do it any way, for ***** and giggles.

Here is the Motorvate write up http://web.archive.org/web/200710300...ca/mvp.php/516
and another from SR20.net http://www.g20.net/forum/showthread.php?t=84940

Well I went ahead and did it today, and it was pretty easy. My starter was labeled NEW NAPA, no Idea how old it was but it still looked like new. The grease inside still looked good, although there was not much of it. It looked like white lithium grease, and I replaced it with red wheel bearing grease. Seems to crank a lot faster now.
