engine noise (not sure if bad)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mqnazFpA9o

there is a distinct click as the engine rotates.

don't mind me ramming the camera into the engine bay. i put my ear closer and forgot i had a camera in my hand. good thing i didn't jam the lens.

anyway, what is it?! how to fix?

my 99 181k mile vq sounded like that, so does my 97 with 119k miles. it's just the injectors as someone else mentioned.

i use the regular one.
would that make a difference if all my parts are in working order? i wouldn't think so...
if it calls for regular then the only thing creating knock would be over-compression or overheating. the vq30 doesn't have a compression ratio that would make 87oct selfdetonate. it could be bad injectors...
(i could be talking out of my butt, but that's my impression) someone correct me if i'm wrong... please!

nissan recommends premium fuel to be used. haven't check the vid yet, but if that's the injector noise, you shouldn't worry.

The gas door reads premium fuel recomended for "BEST PERFORMANCE". I always run mid grade and my car does great.

I have that exact sound. I used a mechanics stethoscope and it sounds like the sound is coming from a valve. A friend of mine told me it could be the injectors and to use the stethoscope to probe all of the injectors.

Either valve tap, or injectors, depending where the sound originates from. Buy a stethoscope.

I'll check valve lash when I have the valve covers off.

Mine sounds the same. The clicking is definitely the injectors. I had one go bad (ran on 5 cylinders for a while). After replacing it it was good to hear the distinct click coming from that cylinder again.

Clicking = Good, loud, working, injectors.

I've heard nothing out of order in that video.
