HUGE maxima overhaul

WOW! That's incredible! Great colour choice. That gives me so much motivation to overhaul my own car. I'm assuming you have some experience in painting. Did you use some sort of spray gun thing for this?
Badass. Totally sweet.

umm anyway everyone seems to be assuming that my car is gonna be white or something. i dont do 2 color schemes im more of a 3 color guy. color is called Burple painted the entire car other then the trunk rear bumper lip kit and the entire front. ill be doing all of that this week weather depending.
i know like 90% of you are goning to hate the color but i love it. i threw a pearl on there that changes from red to gold to green so it looks amazing in the sun. mainly royal purple in the sun, dark blue in the shade and almost black at night. so my colors are obviously purple balck and white

Haha yes I am just that good. I use professional guns and paint set up my own booth and painted the car. 3 stage paint. Burple is the base color then I pearl is the mid coat then clear for the third. I've been painting for 3 years now on my own so I do know what I'm doing

Hey Guys. New to the forum. I have a 2000 Maxima. I just got Tokico Illumina's and S-Tech Springs that are going to lower the car by 1.4 inches all around. I am looking into getting Enkei EDR9's in 17 or 18's. Will the 18's cause fender rub? And also, I would perfer they just fit on (no customization). What is the best width and offset to use? Width options are 7, 7.5 or 8 and offset is either 45mm or 38mm. Thanks for the help. Need to know so I can order.

Really? You missed that? Never mind that you have a 5th generation Maxima, not a 4th generation. You're in the wrong forum.

im trying to find a different way to use my tail lights that i have. they went well with the red but now that my car is purple im thinking they are going to have to be darker and less dimiond looking. more of a horizontal feel to them like the 97-99 lights. taking them apart was a paint i took broke off two small pieces trying to open them up which ill have to fix later but so far im going to paint the inside black and try and smooth out the vertical lines on the inside.
for now i just painted one black on the bottom and a gun metal on the top to daren it up a bit more but still have that red clear look. still trying to figure out a solution to making the inside smooth

Nice work, car is coming along very nicely. Wish I had the time or the motivation....or funds lol. What was involved for prep work in painting the interior? My brother in law used the dupli color on his integra but it peeled terribly, although I'm not certain if he did any prep work.....
#106
prep was just cleaning it with regular automotive cleaner. then sprayed with dupli black primer. couple coats of that and then the vinyl paint. it will peel if left in direct sunlight. i sprayed over every part with rustoleums dull or matte clear to keep the shine down and protect it from peeling. on the door pannels and the dash i used a automotive clear because i had it laying around and wanted those parts to last and knew they would get the most sunlight and use.
all in all the paint plus the rustoleum clear will keep it from peeling. hope that helps

actually gotta love silver paint
i grinded down most of the IM but the small places were just too hard to get to and im on a time budget so i put some 2000* high temp paint as a base then silver paint over for the time being. after i get the car running ill take it off and send it out for polishing.
turned out pretty good. we shall see how long it last

well made some huge progress today. got everything wired up, fuel lines are in, power steering, coolant, oil, tranny fluid all done. extended some wires for a more clean tucked look. need to bleed the clutch still and i was wondering if you guys could help me out. i know there is a fuel line in and return but what does the third line go to? assuming its a vacume i just hook it up to the IM?
#115
oh made a bracket for my FPR and hooked up all those lines. just need to find an adapter for my gauge then ill be set!! i think im going to put my gauge right in that empty space next to the stock fpr

That engine bay is coming out amazing, as well as the whole car.
Its builds like this that truly shine. I dont see how some can be satisfied having a cookie cutter setup looking like so many others and there reasoning is that there just arent any parts/new mods out there to be done in order to be a bit different. They simply cannot think outside of the box.
Are you going to install a FP gauge inside the car?

Flava many of us are not satisfied with what we have, and if money was there Im sure lots of ORGer's would love to do builds like these
Sorry op
I will agree that this car is looking mighty fine, and Im sure when its done it will be one of the nicer cars on the ORG

But anotherthing to remeber is that there are some things that can be done that are still new and orignal that dont require a boat load of money. Just look at the time and detail that TheArtist is putting in, that clearly shows this.
