I think red/clears would look better than those semi-smoked ones with your color and white rims.

There's no way you could get the '97-'99 tails to fit without major modification but I don't think it would be worth it and it might look weird.

Maybe we should just trade tails Yours for my David L's plus cash on your end?

haha man youre really wanting my tails. let me get my rear end finished then ill let you know.

ok so i need some advice on my retro. i feel its just too plain and boring. like it needs some type of chrome or somthing else outlining the light.

anyway here are the pictures. only took me a half hour to mock all this up lol

I just want something different lol Plus my new Volks are gunmetal and my retro uses black housed headlights so some smoked tails would work. Plus I'm trying to get tint sometime in the spring.

Now for the headlights, paint the black shrouds burple and paint the lens retaining rings white. That would look fresh and funky. You could maybe even paint the rest of the housing burple, leave the shrouds black and again paint the retaining rings white.

paint the inside WHITE! ooooo! ive always wanted to see someone do that to the r34's... color match of some sort. i think it would really pop with some diamond bumper lenses and then the original david l's... just a thought

ok just looked and there should be enough for 2 rows of leds on the top. so the outside will be white and the inside will be the uv

well then actually do an eyebrow. then you can hide both the white and uv in there. itll just create a glow. or just enough eyebrow to hide the uv's then the whites can follow the eyebrow for the audi look. that would be pretty sick, slanted eyebrow leds!

you doing a little glowing plexi in the sills?

probably not but yeah im going to tint where the eyebrow will be so the led lights will show through. the leds will face out and the uv lights will be facing down

the uv would look exactly like this. looks awesome at night and bouncing off the white would be intense, i can only look for so long till it starts hurting my eyes

Yeah give it a shot. The entire white didn't look bad but I think they'll stick out just a little too much. Less white and more flat black or burple would look much better but would still look sick and stand out somewhat.

I got 18" Volk GT-N's with tires. I can send you pics of my tails but they're just your standard David L outers with stock inners. I'd also need your wiring harnesses for the tails and I'd give you mine.

Thanks man, two of em need a repaint but I really don't mind. I'm gonna re-do them gunmetal and call it a day.

Can't wait to see the finished result of your retro though, UV lights in there on the white painted parts are going to look sick. We have such similar tastes in modifying.

I'll give you my bulbs as well (stock bulbs for the brakes, orange bulbs for the signals and LED reverse lights). I'd need your set first though seeing as the car is my daily.

I wonder how the rear is gonna look with those tails and the white rims. Might not look so bad after all but like you said your tails definitely aren't that light.

At least it isn't snowing there

Anyway, paint the lip body color. Flat black with that color is gonna look tacky, unpainted and unfinished. Keep it clean brotha.
