lip kit color matched with front lip flat black

 

Hey, what happened with the 3.5 versus 3.0 crank pulley? I was planning on running a 3.5 crank pulley because its all I got, but I could start cannibalizing the 3.0 if I get desperate (would rather not).

 

Sorry if this was already answered in the thread, but are you painting it yourself? If so are you just doing it in the garage? The paint job's looking really good, especially the hood

you have to use the 3.0 pulley because it hase the tdc marking on the back for the cps sensor to read where as the 3.5 pulley does not


ha actually i painted those parts outside at my house yesterday in about 55* overcast weather lol turned out pretty good.

Dont do a flat black lip.
First of all, flat black/rattle canned lips is already getting played out and just as everyone stated it will take away from the car making it look unpainted and incomplete.
Plus, the car has a nice theme already going on, that killer blurple and the white wheels to make it pop. Throwing another color to the exterior is just too much and will make it look a bit gawdy versus nice and clean.

But for real sick job on your car. Definitely subscribed. I wish i had the skills for painting/carbon fiber like u do... Im practicing, but not much luck yet. but yea keep up the good work.

And the whole painted/black lip thing... I agree with flava... It is kinda played out. If you dont care about that, then on another note, it could turn out pretty cool with the burple. But you never know till you try right?

 

well put it all back together. little bumbed because my fenders are a shade lighter. guess 3 coats of color wasnt enough. maybe its from the sun tinting the exhisting paint. either way i just wanna drive it. picture of the headlight. already changed the inside it was just too white. you can really see the pearl on my trunk and i finally cleaned up the inside of my trunk. all black!!

 

Looks damn good, yeah I wasnt really feeling those headlights. Maybe body colored but the white was a bit too much of a contrast.

 

yea, the white with the projectors looks kind funky. makes them REALLY stand out

i still think i like the white, but with the two black parts it was too much contrast for me... solid white i think would have looked better... did you just go back to black?

 

Man your car looks so naked without the lip kit lol. Thank god you didn't keep the white headlights, they just stand out too much. Tails look good, are the outers darker than the inners? If you wanna trade PM me.

 

Ill post up some more pictures later today. The headlights barley have any white in them and I left another all black just to see which one I liked better. But I've gotta say flat black lip FTW haha lol well just until I feel like painting it. Weather keeps getting colder so I'll just keep it black till it warms up for some good painting. Drove the car to get some gas tonight and she ran like poo. Was Hesitant when I stepped on the gas and when I floored it seemed like it had the same power no matter what. Was pretty bummed about that. Defiantly not street worthy just yet

oh n with the black lip, the stock r34 looks better... I thought the white would pull through with the wheels n chrome bumper lenses better but i like the all black now!

 

whats up with the 45 series tire in the front. perhaps it wil need a bit of camber. I love it tho!

 

Damnn just read this entire thread, great progress, love everything about the car. Great job. My favorite part is the head lights.

 

lol headlights were a little toy compared to what he did to the engine, tranny, and the interior.

yeah those are the only tires i have at the moment. saving up for new tires and coilovers. headlights will be the ones on the left. i feel like all black is just too dark, maybe purple will replace the white but its not going to be all black inside there.

 

I'm diggin the white in the lights, purple might look good too - maybe even the whole housing? Are you gonna paint the mirrors or leave them black?

Car has come such a long way but I'm not sure if I'm feeling the flat black lip kit, it definitely gives the car that unfinished look.

Now for the headlights I think that white should be replaced with the burple. It won't stand out too much but it'll give them a nice little custom touch.

I also think you should get a true badgeless grille or make one yourself, seeing the Nissan emblem behind the mesh doesn't look right. I also think you should get the little trim pieces that go next to the fogs if you don't have them. I know maxfever1987 has a few pairs.

Looking good, that black lip is killing it though.
I think body colored housings with the sqaure sections by the projectors in flat black would look good.

did you ever think of putting a sig on your car somewhere? i thought maybe on the headlight housing in small letters near the bottom. just a little input. i know you got this.

But have you thought about painting the front lip white or the whole kit white? I think it'll flow with the wheels and other white things. Although it might look odd.

Don't be jealous lol Your car looks so clean right now with Matty's old full lip kit, the G35 Rays and the spoiler-less trunk. Just wait until you get the dual R34 retro and LED tails!!

Yes mirrors and lip will all be painted body color. Front bumper where the inside parts will be painted black. I'm buying a new grill and have something special for that. Trust me my car is not finished yet. Probably won't be till the summer but it's close. Bad weather makes bad painting, considering I paint everything outside I can't when it's so cold out. The ic is for a rmt set up. I preset the pipes so it's just chillin there for the time being. Did it with the bumper off so I wouldnt have to take it off later. I'll be covering it up for the time being so people don't give me crap about it.

No on to my engine problems. What would cause it to run so badly. Like shaking/hesitating while excelerating?
