Drop Resistor question

Hey whats good fellow orgers,

my tranny has been slipping for a good while now,
so anyways after a year, today i've decided to work a bit on the car after reading tons of threads on slipping issues (mine is throwed by code 12 05 line pressure solenoid valve).

so i've checked the resistance today on the resistor and im getting a reading of 16.5ohms, according to the org, it should read between 11.4 - 12.6ohms

what does that mean if im getting a higher reading instead of lower?
i think im going to change it anyways just to be sure,
but i was wondering if some more experienced users had any more insight on this,

thanks alot,
kevin

change out the sensor, and your tranny will be shifting very smooth compared to now, without the resisstor working right it feels as if your being hit by a trailer everytime you shift

You can change the solenoid pack on the valve body. That's what I had to do when I was getting a "line pressure solenoid" code. Here are some good directions for removal of the solenoid pack/VB:

You should be able to find the solenoid pack on courtesyparts.com somewhere. For my 5.5 gen, it was ~$310. I assume it'll be similar for yours. If that's the code you're getting, this will be the most likely thing to fix the slip.

EDIT::: I found it on courtesyparts. Here it is:

thanks for the link man,
i've checked that one several times,
basically going at the solenoids would be step 2 in my case,
i wanna be sure the dr is fine before i shell out 300$+
