mine got snagged

they stole my car too in the spring up in west philly

i got it back though, they stole the airbags and the wood trim

they also stole windows that had tracing numbers etched on them, morons

if you didnt have an after market alarm, it took all of about 10-15 seconds for them to steal your car

How to steal a maxima in five simple steps:
Step 1: insert blade screw driver into door lock.
Step 2: turn it open by forcing it clockwise and breaking it
Step 3: get in car
Step 4: stick that same screw driver into the glow ring around the ignition
Step 5: pop it off, find the wires that start the car and touch them together

All you need is one tool, maxima security sucks...get a nice alarm

This is the same procedure for about 90% of all cars out there also.

the alarm only goes off if you put your arm through the window and open the door after the car has been locked with the remote button

by using the screw driver it is acting as the key, so it figures no harm is done

i have a 99 max & you can't start the cae without the factory key
i tried using a cut key & the car won't run. my original key has a micro chip embedded into it & is programed for that one car.

Re: it dosent go off

OK. I hope this means that the thief spent alooooot of time fiddling with the screwdriver. No way this could be a 5 minute job. The way I see things, if a thief wants your car, he'll get it. So, when I park, I try to park in the most visible location or in a paid lot. Putting time and visibility against a thief would dis-courage him . . . .I hope.

Yup. One thing I do envy about the 99s. The other is the red SELs
