I have a 98 and when it starts in the morning when its cold it'll rev up to 1000-1500 rpm on start, imediately drop to about 200 rpm rev up maybe one more time to about 1k and then down to 0 and shut off on me. Do I need to replace my spark plugs or is it something else?

 

try cleanin the throttle body, air idle control valve , and check engine coolant tempature sensor

 

Make sure your IACV is plugged in all the way.

I had basically this same problem, did as the others mentioned plus cleaned the MAF and its starting as it should. There's a good how to in the stickies on it, you will have to adjust your idle as well.

 

ok awesome I'll look into it it's a pain when it takes 2 or 3 times to get her started.
