Custom Maxima "Kensei" Muffler

So I'm not sure if this is already known on here, but I'd just like to let everyone know that this muffler absolutely sucks. I bought it a few months ago and it sounds like crap. I gave it time hoping something would change but it still sounds terrible. Sounds very similar to when I had a rotted out stock muffler with a bunch of holes in it. I'm honestly considering just taking it off all together and going back stock, unless anyone can suggest to me another muffler that is relatively inexpensive that would sound similar to a Greddy or Stillen...?

What's your exhaust set up? My exhaust is stock besides the catback and it sounds amazing.

I have a warpspeed y-pipe and the b-pipe that came with the "Kensei" muffler. So you like the sound of yours? I was told that if I get a CAI it will sound better, but I'm not sure if I should do it. I planned on replacing the whole exhaust system but it became less of a concern for me after I was disappointed by the muffler, lol

It's probably the WS Y-Pipe making it sound the way it does, those mufflers don't work well with HO front pipes. If you want to keep the Y then your gonna have to get rid of the muffler but you can keep the res pipe.

The WS y that i have added some rasp to my aftermarket catback( may be what happened to you), so i added a magnaflow resonator( 4" round 26" body i believe). It made a difference. I now have the stock 5th gen muffler( a "turbo" style muffler may be a good alternative, but not sure on prices) on with everything else from the headers back being aftermarket.

Yeah they Warpspeed y-pipe is making your exhaust extremely raspy and loud correct? Without it, it would sound much better like mine but you won't see the +15hp gains. A CAI won't make it sound any different.

You could either swap out the muffler or add a bigger resonator. I'd change the muffler.
