rear speaker wiring

96 w/ bose originally. Need to know about the four wire plug for the stock rear speakers. Which wires are for the signal? Checked FSM, but it is hard to tell what is what in their diagram.

The larger gauge wires are the power wires (black wire and red wire). So that leaves the smaller gauge wires as the signal ones.

at the rear speakers there is a four wire plug, they are all the same color wire on both sides, driver side has all larger wires and the passenger side are all thinner wires.

Are the signal wires all on one side?

No each speak has power (red wire) ground (black wire). These are thicker wires. Then - signal wire and + signal wire. I'm at work so I do not know what color these are.

I'm wondering if someone re-wired the speakers.

I looked in the FSM and the wires are not all the same. Both plugs do have a red and black wire for power (red = 12 volts pin 3 and black = ground pin 1) but the signal wires are different for each side.

For the left rear speaker, the wires are red and green (pins 2 and 4 respectively) and the right side uses pink and blue (again pins 2 and 4 respectively).

I hope you can post a photo.

I will snap a quick picture today. Unless I'm an idiot and these are not the speaker plugs. They are the only two plugs dangling right near each of the rear speakers.

It's hard to tell since I'm on my phone but it looks like someone extended the wires. Is that electrical tape about 6" from the plug?

But anyways here

Here is your connector
According to fsm
Pin 1: Ground
Pin 2: Signal +
Pin 3: Power
Pin 4: Signal -

Excellent, I'm going to give it a shot tomorrow. Thanks man! I think he may have been tapping off of that power to turn a amp on back there.
