Air Filter

I need to replace air filters.......Whats the best to get?
I was looking at the K and N High Flow air filter...Is it worth geting for 45 dollars? How much will it or can it improve my performance? Should I just save money for another intake like Stillen or JWT Pop charger????

i say ya just do the BrianV intake mod. it will probably cost less than the K&N panel filter and it looks and sounds awesome. i doubt you will feel any performance gain with the K&N. the Stillen and JWT are like BrianV's mod, just much more expensive. you could also go to ebay and just get a cone filter kit roughly for 30-40 bucks. or you can save up for a CAI.

cheapest alternative for a cone intake without destroying your stock air box is to buy a intake adapter($15-20 on ebay) and a universal 3" opening cone filter (about $25 at pepboys) it works just like the stillen and popcharger and the only difference is that there is no velocity stack but its basically the same thing and also gives a loud roar

the BrianV intake mod is when you remove the adapter from the stock airbox(destroys the stock air box) and use that adapter to secure the cone intake to the MAFS. you will have to use duct tape to seal the air leaks. Its ghetto and its not pretty but it works.

Well adds velocity to the incoming air, its sort of "taperd" ,i guess you can say, which speeds up the air as it enters rather then just a straight bolt on adapter......

Ohhhhhh, I know what you're talking about now. I've seen the Stillen one but didn't know it was called a Velocity stack, I thought it was just an adapter. I can see what you mean by tapered. The opening is much larger than 3" but tapers down to about 3" where the air goes in. Makes sense how it would speed up the air, but doesn;t seem like it would make THAT much of a difference. I think I'm gonna go with an adapter and K&N Cone instead of paying for a Stillen. Thanks for the info...
