Fix this damn cupholder.

Anyone have a good way to fix this stupid cup holder? I think I have the same issue that everyone else has. It sinks on the passenger side. Someone have an easy fix before I go buy a plastic welder and weld to the console?

Are the tabs broken? Do you have all the clips? I had the same problem so I picked up one from the junk yard and it sat perfect till one of my buddy's leaned on it and broke the tabs . So I got frustrated when I tried to fix it for the 2nd time and put a screw through the middle and counter sunk the screw between the cup holders to hold it in place. It has not moved since sounds ghetto but works and dose not look like a hack job If you color match the screw and counter sink It flush. The only reason I screwed down is because I had an extra cup holder so if I did not like it I could put the other one back. hope this helps you out.

My tabs broke a while ago. I just but two small black screws right where the tabs once were. It doesn't stick out and is very sturdy. Ill post up pictures alittle later.

4th Gen cupholders are awful in general. Too small and not tall enough to keep things from toppling when doing some "spirited driving". Perfect size for a 12 oz can, but that's about it (who drinks out of those anymore?)

I plan to do something about this when the weather improves...

all most all cups now have the smaller bottoms, circle K, fast food, etc.
The arm rest cup holder is for spirited driving.
95-96 FTW

Back when these cars were new... the 12 oz can was all the rage of soda drinkers

ok here are the pictures as promised..

i used small screws i had lying around the house.. small and black im not sure the exact measurements.

i made pilot holes from the cup holder down to the console. I made the holes close close to where the tabs were to make sure it was going to be strong.

Installed: (its alittle dirty)

Had the same issue and finally got fed up so I too did the same thing. Best fix I think.

Sorry, but I disagree with you. Those cupholders (or lack thereof) were one of the many reasons why I made sure my two Maximas are 97-99 in order to get the upgrades....
