might have problems with the waxing of that "powder coating" lol
you should probably have them re-do it... looks to be a little heavy on the wheels.

lol.. The snow MAYBE I could live with- it's the damaging salt on the roads that concerns me.. But again, what do I know..

No, just an oil pan heater. I tried to put an actual block heater on it but it wouldn't fit behind the exhaust manifold.

Salt's bad for sure, but they actually don't use it here. When it's 20 below and the wind is blowing huge snow drifts across the highway, spreading salt doesn't really help any.

quite a few people on a local forum have them, as far as i know they are removable and youre supposed to remove it before you drive. one guy left it on and it flew off somewhere

It's basically a wire with a heating element on the end that was glued onto the oil pan. It heats up and keeps the oil from thickening when it gets really cold.
When I'm not using it I just tuck the plug behind the headlight so it's not sticking out like that.
You can probably get one installed at Les Schwab/Tires Plus/Discount Tire etc.
Any auto parts store should be able to order you one too.
If you want to go big time you can get ones with a pump that heat and circulate your coolant! But that's probably overkill.
