VQ30DEK Swap in Progress
VQ30DEK Swap in Progress
I did a VQ30DEK swap, I only have one question, what is the blue harness towards the back right of the motor? Do I have to splice that and use something else instead? It is also connected to the fuel injector harness.
One thing I noticed that I haven't read on. With my DEK swap the rear injectors were clip on under the intake manifold. I thought I had to splice all 6 with DEK injectors. I only had to do the front 3.

Swapping the rear 3 coilpacks, yes.
For the injectors, you either swap all of them or none of them.
I know it sounds confusing the way I wrote it. What I meant to say is that I am using the DEK injectors and fuel rail on my DEK swap. The main wire assembly from the fourth gen only has 3 out of the 6 injector clips (the 3 front clips). The rear 3 injector clips are somehow intact and the wiring runs behind the engine. I assumed I was going to splice into all 6 and change all 6 clips but I only had to splice into the front 3.
FYI, that blue harness is not the rear O2 sensor, that is a major harness that connects to the grey one. I'm not sure but I think I have to snip in to it. I thought all the harness were supposed to clip right in with no problems. I have to snip and make it work, when I turn the key the starter doesn't even click.
ok, so youre saying the blue connector is the injector subharness? just making sure because mine isnt blue, but it may be it. what happened was when you took the old DE out, you left the old clips on the old injectors, you just disconnected the whole harness right there. you shouldve left the harness connected, and just spliced the new DEK clips into THAT harness. but then again...they may be interchangeable, idk...ive always done it the way i described.
either way, the car should still try to start regardless i would think. i guess make sure the starter is all hooked up like it should be, all the plugs are connected, all the cables are back where theyre supposed to be, and the battery is good.
