i just had a check engine light pop on last night, and guess what i did last monday, inspection!!! so, if i had waited like i was going to to get the inspection done it would'nt have passed. yeah, i know you can reset the codes and wipe it away. here's the good part, the tank was a quarter full so i put some bg gas treatment in and when i came back out of the food store the stutter was gone, ( im guessin an injector ) and she's running smooth as silk now. i figure the injector clogged or something and it stopped working properly. lucky me!!!!! fingers crossed

 

Yeah its going to come back at some point. Mine just did this while on the highway cruising and the CEL came on flashing for cylinder 4 misfiring and O2 sensor. Drove around local streets and it took itself off and codes disappeared. Next 2 days, started her up from cold and was rumbling like hell. I just swapped out the injector and all is well now...good thing it wasn't one of the ones under the manifold as I just changed all the gaskets

 

i just did front and rear valve cover gaskets and thought about telling my tech to do the 2 rear injectors that i think are original, did'nt want to spend the extra cash to do as money is tight. i think its my front number 6 injector which has gone bad 2 times now in 8 months. any reason why it would go bad??? anyone??

 

Two times in 8 months? Are you using OEM injectors?? Doesn't make sense to me..I am still on my originals

 

no, aftermarket. one was remanned and another new. any place i can get oem new cheap?? im not doing used, had headaches with that b4 as well. oh, i have 215,00 on maxy....

 

believe it or not the injectors do get clogged have you seen how small the four holes are on those things ? injector cleaner is a good thing to add once in a while.

yep. bg from the dealer. its about 5-6 bucks and you add to an almost empty tank so it does'nt get diluted. i think they say to add to a full one but it worked better for me the other way around. i found out its cylinder 1 misfire, got it scanned today at autozone. where do i get an oem injector for a good price???

 

Aww man. Not sure but don't get AZ one. It works fine but fitment is not great. Mine cracked installing into the rail.

well, maybe not yet. im having advanced auto reset the ecu tomorrow and im putting premium gas in and hopefully the c/e light stays off.

 

Harry's You Pick It (wegotused.com) In Pennsburg. Go in and grab 3 fronts off of one car and 3 fronts off another, send the set out to be professionally cleaned. For close to the the cost of one new oem you can have a set of 6 that have been cleaned,tested, and new o rings. Best bang for the buck that I can think of

 

Fuel injector cleaner is such a ripoff. Gasoline will eat away any deposit that a cleaner will, especially at high pressure/volume. Once injectors get clogged they need to be cleaned professionally or replaced.

 

i had the injectors cleaned a few months back. i think the fukoil gas is making maxy run like $hit and clogging them.

 

Don't remember seeing any 4th gens at Harrys but I havent been out that way in 3 years.
How many Maximas do they now, is it more common?

Strangely enough, they had like 4 Taurus SHOs, which my buddy and I all but gutted lol.

 

and viola!!! i go to leave for work this morning, start up maxy and the light is gone!!!! self fixing maxima!!! yesssssssss!!!!!!! i did add a little bg, but i hoped it was just clogged and it seems to have worked!!!

lukoil FTL. I used that sh*t cuz the guy at advance recommended it. My car ran like crap until the tank was empty.
