HELP! clutch problem!!

ok so i bought a competition clutch and pressure plate not too long ago and had someone put it in and they just got back to me saying that it was installed but it will not disengage. idk what the problem could be...maybe no pressure in the lines? any ideas on where to look first?

the guy who did it said he didn't bleed them because he only removed the slave cylinder off to the side. but i don't see why you wouldnt bleed it.? its like doing your breaks and not bleeding those lines. he said he is going to bleed the line today so we'll see what happens. having an aftermarket more aggressive clutch would be the problem would it? also i didn't have the flywheel changed...just had it cut

yea..resurfaced. and i just got off the phone with him again and he said that tomorrow he will power bleed the system and see if that is the problem. he was saying to me that the pressure plate seemed as if it wasn't working properly maybe faulty? also is it possible that the slave cylinder isn't creating enough pressure?

the slave could be toast or the master could be toast or u could have a leak in the line but i really think it could be installer error is this a shop or a friend? i also think you should be there to see what is going on to give us a better explantion of whats going on and whats been done there also could be a issue with the shift fork cold be bent or not istalled right when the tob was put on

he is a friend but was also a tech at ford for 19yrs. and believe me id love to be there but the car is an hour n a half away so its a little hard. but i doubt the fork is bent. car ran perfect before all of this...minus the slipping of the old clutch

Disc could be backwards, pushing the hub and springs into the flywheel bolts. If he didn't open the clutch lines, they should not need bleeding and wont cause your problem. Could also be improperly installed throw out bearing or improperly surfaced flywheel.

agreed... It is not a requirement.

That said, I am not sure I would put that amount of time in and NOT bleed the lines, MS, and SL. You do not go through many clutches over the life of a car. It is best, IMO, to flush, replace, and bleed your clutch system.

It is really hard to understand what actually happened. From what I read I would be more worried that he did not know what he was doing or that he did an improper job. (Years on the job /= knowing correct procedure.) If he did install it wrong, I would be very passive about it. People will lie to avoid a supposed reaction.

I think you need to start over and TS this as a new problem. Let us know what you find with each component and step. That way we can give you accurate advice.
