I got pulled over recently in Texas for some "questionable" lights. Basically i was told that my altezzas and clear corners were illegal because they didn't have side reflectors. at the time, i had lost my polarg 194 bulbs, so i had the blue LED's in there, and the altezzas, i'm trying to wire the 27W filament in the brake light and the corner bulb to the turn signal. I had the 1156 LED's in the blinker and the red 194 LED's on the corner only (no 1157 bulbs for the far right and left stop signal). Anyways, he basically wanted the front side to shine amber and the rear side to be red, but what got me is that the sides on the front and rear need to have an amber and red reflector respectively. that means that i would have to replace both assemblies! I know the blue bulbs and the *dead* far sides were asking for attention, but i thought the altezzas were street legal??? Anyways, i'm going to put amber bulbs up front and put some 1157's back in (also, i remember there being a thread about how to combat the superfast turn signals with LED bulbs, is there a way to put a load on the circuit as the LED's take so little power? BTW, i have the APC 1156 and 1157, and the autodynamic.com 194 LED's.

 

Altezzas I thought were legal because of the red, but come to think of it, they don't have the reflecor thingy on them, and the earlier generation rear clears do....

The front bumper clears are illegal, at leat it says so on the box, but if you use amber bulbs, they should be semi-legal because they actually do have the reflector.

 

from the side the front should have "yellow/orange reflector" and color light should either be white or yellow....back should have "red reflector"....and from the back ur taillights should have "red reflector" and color light should be red....being that u have clear bumpers....u have broken the law...being that u have altezza...u have broken the law because the altezza does not have side reflectors...

 

It shouldn't matter because

Altezza's = UGLY

Personally I think if I were a cop I'd let a lot of people go for crap like fast turn signals, too low, loud exhaust, tint, no front plate, etc, but I would definately ticket almost ANYONE I saw with Altezza's especially on Maxima's and Eclipse's

 

Yeah, the color of the light you have in there has nothing to do with it. If you have red lights they are still illegal. This is because you have to have at least 3 inches of either red or amber housing on each of the rear sides. The reason for this, even though its just BS, is because cars couldnt see you from the side if you are stopped in the road at night. I found that out the hard way, 2 times and counting.

what abt IS300 altezza? they got red reflectors?

 

The actuall altezas dont have the colored housing, but there is a 3 inch long piece of red housing just below them on the side. This makes it legal. They housing doenst necesarily have to be part of the tailights, just as long as there is red or amber on the rear side of the car.
