eBay parts...

Ok, I find a lot of stuff scattered around, but there always seem to be questions, so I would like to start a thread where we can call comment of parts for these cars on eBay that are good, bad, or whatever, so we can get a concise grouping started up...

so start posting what parts we've bought on eBay, and whether they were worth buying, or not...

I bought them, they look good, you just gotta be careful with the the clip that you need to snap in...if don't do it right...it will break.

I've bought a grille, and clear corners from Ebay, and its been so far a year and it is still in good shape.

Although the clear corners are getting a bit of condensation inside them.

ebay corners can either suck or last a few years. i've had 4 pairs and condensation is a problem with them. ebay in general sux, i get all my parts from autopartswarehouse.com or courtesynissan, more reliable that way.

Just b/c you have had bad experiences doesn't mean everyone will, and everything ebay is bad. When shopping on ebay, discretion must be used, but you can find good quality parts on there if you look. There are also OEM parts sold on ebay. Some Nissan dealerships do have ebay stores as well, as do junkyards. With that said, I dont buy any mechanical parts on there, except for my OEM knock sensor and parts for my retro, but other things I get from there.

Not necessarily. We, on the org, have many options for discount OEM parts. We can get parts from Dave B, and Courtesy Nissan. Another member also recently posted the link to another dealership with reasonable prices, McCarthy Nissan. Here is a link: http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...?siteid=215478
If you want OEM parts at a reasonable price, we have options.

I have gotten black housing corners, multiple fog light bulbs (searching for the right color), and my HID kit from ebay. So far, the corners have a huge condensation problem and dont even fit right, the fog light bulbs are either the wrong color or burn out within weeks, and the HID kit works great so far.

NIssan Center Caps - See above.
A bunch of bushings - Good ish, but it's from the company's clearance... doesn't really count as a ebayer....

a trick to help w condensation in the corners/head/tail lights, etc...buy some silicone from home depot, etc and just give it a once over where the seal is. let it dry and bam! no more condensation if done right.

i bought a lot from ebay for a bunch of cars.

tein s tech springs (my 94 prelude)

kyb gr-2 shocks (^for same car)

e.s. hyper flex kit (^for same car)

no name brand 6000k hid's which have lasted me thru one front end accident and still work till this day and are going on around 3.5 years of use with NO flickering...(who said cheap hid's dont work/last?!)

kicker tweeters

misc gaskets

front pads/rotors

cat back stock exhaust

i cant even remember what else...BUT no problems at all from anything i have purchased!

I bought an ignition switch off E-Bay for $21.90 a few months ago from seller autopartsnerd and it's worked beautifully since I put it in.

...and from seller mlkautoparts I bought a center dash vent with the defroster and hazard light switch, since I accidentally broke my vent when I swapped out my stereo (and my defroster switch was messed up anyway). The transaction went well, and the part worked perfectly.

So your telling me that an OEM part sold by a Nissan dealership on ebay cheaper, wont be as good as an OEM part sold on a Nissan dealership website? Please explain that one.
