Just got my Blues and H&R springs
Everything jus came in the mail and i feel like a kid with a new xmas present!!!
I jus inspected everything.
The H&Rs springs do not come with spring isolators. kinda pissed about this. BUt they look hella cool and good quality. They are a sexy shade of navy blue.
THe tokicos look like pure sex!! They even smell great..u know, that new car part smell that u couldnt simulate even in a bottle! The kit comes with rear bushings, washer, and nut. THe fronts only come with a new nut. Thats cool cuz im pretty sure the old ones are rusted to hell.
I got a question tho...I compressed the strut by hand and i noticed as the strut decompressed, some liquid was present on the point to where i had compressed it. THe strut body wasnt wet but the strut rod had liquid on it from compressing it.
IS that supposed to happen? And should i be able to compress the strut by hand? Albeit, it was really tough to compress and im a pretty strong guy.
I jus wanna make sure they didnt arrive DOA. I never had struts before. Thanks.

Lol.
Im at work and cant upload here.
I plan on taking before and after pics and a movie of my bad struts. Then ima post in this thread. Should be quite dope!
My boy says i shd be able to compress by hand. But when the rod rebounds some of the strut liquid/grease rims about the rebound point. Not alot by any means. Jus wanted to know if thats normal. I got from authorized dealer and the struts do seem to work fine.

they really arent that bad. Its the decreased stabilty when taking a turn or goin over a bump in the road that really made me want to replace them. Everytime i go over decent sized road imperfection, the car feels ridiculously loose.

J/K, Doing bushings too? Makes the ride feel solid and more planted to the ground.

lol. im capable sometimes mannnngg.
I only got bushings for the struts. I think i have a bad bushing in rear suspension or lateral link. I need to get the car up on a lift so i can take a good look.

SMOOTH RIDE!!!!!
I got the car back yesterday and all i can say is...WOW! Night and day difference between how the car used to ride and how the car rides now. I took my shorty for a ride and she didnt even notice it as a lowered car, jus a smoother riding car. I am very pleased with the HR & blues setup.
I took the car for a test ride over the usual streets i travel everyday. The car takes the bumps in stride! Its like the blues have so much "reserve" left in them. The blues are a quality strut and coupled with the H&Rs, I have no worries of bottoming out or anything. I replaced the mounts and bushings so all strut noise has been eliminated. My mech took the time to wrap each coil ends with the spiral wrap i bought. Its nice man...real nice .
Some ppl have made comments that the strut is a lil soft. I now know what they meant. This strut provides a soft comfy ride. If u looking for a track stiff sturdy ride then dont get the blues, get the illuminas and dial them up for more stiffness. The blues are made for the street and comfort. I will NEVER buy stock struts again. PERIOD.
But the biggest test came this morning... i usually take this wide corner at 30ish mph. I took that same turn this morning at 45ish mph. The whole time the car felt composed with lil body roll.
Now for the pics...

I only have a factory jack and i refuse to do any work that requires me to raise and secure the vehicle. I let my mech do that sh*T lol. He only charge me $200 for install. I was so pleased with the results and price, i hit the dude with an extra $20. Gotta tip ppl that do good work man.

Good looks on the offer man. I know the only hard part is compressing spring but i rather jus let my mech do it.
My mech sd he installed the Cam bolt on the upper bolt. Will that mess up anything?

You bought all new suspension pieces right? Mounts, b3stings, bushings etc?
If so, you could have assembled them outside of the car, and just swapped out the complete units. I'm sure that's what he did.
Probably the easiest suspension work he's ever done.
But as long as your satisfied that's all that matters.

shyt $200? like flava said it was probably the easiest work ever considering he didn't have to swap over the spring or anything. seems like too much to me, i hope he threw in an alignment for FREE.
and on aftermarket springs he didn't even have to compress them to install.
looks nice though, get some rims

He did a poor man's alignment as he doesnt have computerized system. He takes a rope and wraps around the car at the tires. Then he eyeballs the alignment and adjust camber lol. It aint perfect but it works.
YO man, dude took care of me. Thats why i had to hit him with that extra $20. Any other shop wd have charged at least $300. And lets not even talk dealer prices.
Im looking for some 17s now. nothing lower than 45 tire depth. Thats jus me man.
Car been riding like love since the drop. Im so mad i didnt do this sooner
