SC Problems

well, i got my SC pulled off to put a new belt on, and i have run into a problem. There are 2 large allen nuts holding the plate to the SC, and 5 small ones. I got the 2 large ones off, but the 5 small ones will NOT come out. I have broke 3 allen bits, 2 allen wrinches, and went at them with an impact wrench. Has anyone else ever run into this problem? If so what was done to remove the bolts? thanks

I bought a set of Allen keys from Home Depot (the one with that comes with a handle). Turbo95Max and I put a pipe at the end of the extension to give more leverage/torque and worked it loose.

The second time around when Jane and I worked on the bracket... it was much easier. Good luck.

pick up a "breaker-bar" from craftsman or something, its a socket wrench without the rachet action. buy an allen key socket for the end of it.

If that doesnt work, put a long a$$ piece of pipe on the end of it for more leverage, like Kev suggested.

I suggest craftman, just because if you brake it, they will give you a new one so you arent out of the money

They put a lot of lock tight on the bolts. I used an impact gun the first time but a breaker bar should do.
