Best DIY job I have ever done to my 98
I know that this has been posted recently, but cleaning the throttle body is by far the best thing I have done to my car lately. I have 65K miles on my 98 and have changed intakes multiple times from paper to popcharger and back to K&N drop in, and my TB was filthy.
Changes include 1)smooth idle, 2) better acceleration (very smooth), and overall better performance. The difference is very noticable.
As others have in past, I strongly recommend you to do this.

I did nothing but read the instruction on the Throttle body Cleaner can. I removed the rubber peice between the TB and the MAF. Sprayed a little inside the TB and opened the plate and sprayed. I did use a paper towel (careful not to tear it or leave any behind) to clean what I could reach. Dont use a lot. I put everything back in and started the car. It started to stall, but it cought back up. I drove it. It smoothed out and acceleration was greatly improved. The difference is amazing. My idle had also be sitting around 500 rpm and very rough. Now it sits at 700 and is smooth as silk.
Good luck.
Good luck.
