having acceleration problems... will explain

ok so get your flamethrowers out, because im expecting some heat on this one..
recently had to replace my stock crankshaft pulley due to wear and tear on it(rings started walking in on itself), replaced it with a all aluminum underdrive pulley and as soon as i get it all back together the car has problems starting(before the switch it cranked first try) and i have to put the car in neutral and then urn the key for about 5 or 6 seconds before it will crank over. for a little while that was the only problem, but now i noticed that my mpg has gone down considerably(from 380 miles to a tank to about 250 miles to a tank) and i noticed that over time i started losing low end torque if im below 2k rpms then i just growls and doesnt go or it hesitates, but if im above 3k(supposedly the beginning of a fabulous torque band)it will go but it pops.. almost like it backfiring a little and the second i let out of it... it starts running like it should.. if i just ease onto it then its fine, but the second i push down the pedal more hesitation and popping.
someone told me that my underdrive pulley needed to be adjusted( on the back of the pulley it has numerous screws that you could pull out and rotate the little nubs to line up the ckps with the underdrive pulley)
will that help me out with acceleration and popping, btw i checked CEL and came up with a 0304 and a 0407 knock sensor and crankshaft position sensor. please let me know i would really like to have my torquey max.
also has anyone got any pics of john deere blitz black on a max (im thinking about painting it that color since its already..thanks guys(and girls) *edit* when i push in the clutch and rev the motor .. its smooth as butter but will hesitate when the clutch is let back out..**

A. Break up your sentences makes it easier to read.
eg. instead of typing a lot of sentences and keeping them all joined together by not using paragraphs and not hitting the enter key it makes it really hard to read, hell my add kicks in and I stop caring and start skimming because it looks like you are trying to say a lot more then you really are, so by doing this exact thing that I am doing right here makes it hard for people to help you, hell it's even hard for you too keep up with what you said and what you didn't say in your original post.
You understand what I am getting at now? With this wonderful second paragraph here things just start to really suck reading. I bet now you are even lost with what I am trying to say.... But look at the other two things that I am saying, look how I double spaced it... ahhh, much easier to read?

B. Codes?

C. No, I do not know of anyone with that specific color on a maxima, there are a few others like it but that one no.

0407 Crank shaft position (REF) signal.

The CPS (REF) sensor looks at the 120 degree timing ring on the pulley.
Being the pulley is what you changed prior to the problem, common sense would say the UDP you put on is the source of your problem.

The knock sensor code might go away after you fix the CPS signal and clear the error codes.
