My neighbor has a drag car using a later model Malibu V8. Runs just in the 10's but it's not a street car.

Old GF's dad had a V8 Malibu(skyblue). It was pretty fast. 1980s or early 90s vintage.

Yeah they could be fast, but those just aren't my style. Forget about the turns in those cars. Newer Malibu? The one w/ the freaky Skyline type rear lights? Man how hideious is that?

Honestly, if I had the urge to go fast in a straight line, the GN would be my choice. Or maybe a Chevy 350 in a 240z or something.

p.s: grand am's are terrible! NO LIE
They arent terrible but they can't touch anything on a Maxima.

yea I saw a 240Z with a chevy 350 in it.. beautiful ran some great times too
Well my project is an SR20DET 240SX a drifters dream I used to have one before I sold it and got the Maxima

yup the Malibu.. actually its the Impala with the dual rear circles... the Malibu is the budget Camry but it has a 170hp 3.1L V6 standard... a few bolt ons and i'm sure I could make a few .org members feel a little bit less quick to call American cars crap...

240sx? Man put the sr-t into a Datsun 1200. Solid rear axle and 1300 lbs.
I would love to get a old RX3 or RX4 and put a bone stock 255hp 13b turbo or even a Japan only 12a turbo in it.

FJ20-T in a Datsun 1600 Roadster would be very cool.

i used to own a grand am (yes yes i know the car sux), anyways it was a 3.1 liter v-6 and my 1996 i30 would put it out, from 0-30 or 0-100. the fourth gen max and infiniti will beat the **** out of that rattle box of a plastic car

haha yea but I figure if I buy a cheap 240SX for a couple Gs... and get hooked up with the SR20DET... it'll cost me not too much moolah... plus a lil style always helps =)

a friend of mine has a 99 grand am gt, and to tell you the truth, it looks nice, from the outside. i saw a black gt with chromies and i thought it looked really sharp, so in my opinion, the gt(which has a different front and rear bumper from the other grand am's) looks good, but the interior is nasty, yuck! i can'r stand the interior, the first time my gt friend sat in my car he went, "DAMN! this is sweet!", he loved the dash, and he loved that i can chirp the tires, for some reason, he cant do it in his car. he's not like a lot of people out there, he knows that his car isn't the best thing, especially in build quality, but he also knows that he can get american cars for a good price, he bought his car used in the summer of 2000, it had something like 20k miles on it, and he paid $15k, not bad, its kinda hard to find a max thats less than a year old for that price. there is no problems with his car yet, it has 50k miles on it now, so i guess the reliability isn't bad. however, i dont think i would buy that car because of the interior, i just cant stand it, sorry, my opinion.

btw, my friends gt has traction control, its a $20k car when new, my gxe was $23k, why doesn't nissan put a traction control std on their flagship?

Uh, those things are over a second slower than auto maxima's.

Rape him you better.
The RAM AIR Grand AM GT does high 15s stock in the 1/4. I suggest you re-think what you said. They are very quick for the V6 auto.
