Need Help Fast!!!! Replacement 5-speed Issue!!!!

OK, Mine is a 95 non-locking. I have located a 5-speed locking from a 97 model. Will it fit? What do I need besides the tranny and axles? They are verifying now if its Locking, but it is listed as such, and has 72k on it. But the price is good. PLease let me know ASAP!!!
Thanks

You will need the tranny and halfshafts...everything else should be direct bolt on... Get a part # and make sure it ends in V for locking...

I have a 96 VLSD 5speed in my 97. Obviously, a 97 will then fit in a 97, and I imagine a 97 will fit in a 95 also.

Nothing else is needed for your swap. Just the tranny. All the other stuff (axles, etc) from your car will bolt right up to the VLSD tranny.

Misprint: Obviously, a 97 will then fit into a 96,...

Well, in the end it was a NON locking tranny. I found a 95 locking with 69k miles shipped for $750. About the best I could find. I could have gone non-locking for less, but I really want an LSD.

750 shipped for a tranny is a good price. Shipping alone is ~150, so that's 600 for the tranny alone. I got a steal of a deal and paid 600 shipped for my tranny. That's really not all that much cheaper than 750 and I got a STEAL on it.

750 shipped is a good price.

Wow, these transmissions are soooo expensive. Now I dont feel so bad driving 250 miles one way last week to pick up a transmission with a busted case. A 97 tranny with 16,000 miles on it I got for $250 (I was means of shipping). Just gotta transfer my good 1/2 the case, cryo treat the guts then reshim 3 tolerances of the mainshaft, input shaft and differential then reassemble the car.

Ya you got a good deal. Lucky SOB Any ideas as to the cost of cryo-treatment?
