Link doesn't work, but there are a lot of cheap ones on ebay.

If you'll put it in yourself, you can get the cheap one but if you're paying for labor, definitely get the OEM, it's under $50

You've got to question the quality of a product that cheap, I wouldn't buy it.

There's a few other threads on this topic and the cheap ones have failed on some people. I bought one for $13 and it failed in under a year.

Putting in this little SOB aint easy and your hands take a beating. Cheaping out wasn't worth the scars on my hand because I had to reach in there a second time.

Seller's feedback is good but no warranty. Spend a bit more and you'll get a 12 month warranty:

I saw that too, but figured that most if not all of these sensors are originating, even if not shipped from there, good ol' China.

you can test the knock sensor, it should have a certain resistance. but yeah, buy an oem and do it once.

I've heard that any ebay knock sensor should generally be good, but haven't purchased one myself personally.

On another side note, I know this isn't the place for it (haven't quite hit the 15 posts just yet to make my own posting) but check out this 4th gen currently for sale on ebay, I'm sure it'll bring some fond feelings of nostalgia to people...

I'm not sure why you'd spend three times more money to get a one-year warranty. That would pay off if you expect three of the $4 sensors to fail each year.

My knock sensor philosophy is to get the cheapest KS possible because they're cheap and easy to replace. Prices have been dropping, too; I didn't see the $4 sensors when I did mine in January.

I just bought one for my sister's '96 for ~$14 because she's driving to Tennessee soon and wants the better mileage it should offer. Having bought enough $2+free ship items from Deal Extreme, I know it'll take a month for whatever I order to arrive from Hong Kong.

They are cheap but most people will disagree with you on the ease/ difficulty of replacement. In my previous post I had explained why it made sense to buy the OEM over el cheapos, because the quality ks would need to be replaced only once in all likelihood. Continually buying and replacing cheap knock sensors does not make sense for most people in light of the nature of their replacement.

I guess it depends on the person. I have small, ladylike hands, and after I figured out a good method it took me about ten minutes to replace the thing. (It took me about three or four hours to find a good method, though.)

Same here, effeminate hands with long fingers and still a tight squeeze to get in there. Now, I've done it three times, twice on my car and once on a friend's.

Those colors of that 99 match the one in the movie....... I have had OEM ks crack and fail, but I think the eBay ones are all around worth the price because I paid $28 for my last KS last year, they are so cheap now

$100 BUCKS! You could've gotten two OEM ones from ebay for that price, guess you didnt know at the time. Your experience is a good example why the ebay OEM should be bought over the cheap ones.

I had an ebay knock sensor go out on me in a month. I purchased another knock sensor off of ebay for $12, and that one never worked right off the bat.

Pretty sure it's not the one from the movie. The first movie had their cars done by a company in Houston Texas. Those decals were ALL OVER the place after that movie released. I've seen way too many yellow Lancers with that ugly metal angel thing on the side.

Anyways, bought a 20 dollar knocksensor that was OEM from ebay, had nissan seal on it /shrug. Works like charm, and got rid of that nasty 0305 ghost code. Our cars will break the originals. Might as well save on cost with things that work just as good.

Yesss, I mean if a ks selling for what, like $12 bucks wasnt cheap enough, I had no idea there was a $3 carrot, ebay is really making people cheap. There is a difference between buying cheap and being cheap, but i'm not calling our $3 ks christopher columbus cheap though, i understand that he saw value in it from a cost vs. risk perspective.
