Death in the family.....

So to catch everyone up, i got rims, lowered my max, and then this **** happens... Was goin down Rt. 59 and a light turned from green to yellow so i started to try slowin down... Nothin happened... Hit brakes harder... Still nada.. By now the light is red and the other light turned green, and i was putting all my weight into brakes, and then they locked up when i was crossin the white line.... Needless to say it was too late, and i t-boned another car, and now max is totalled. I got it in my driveway cuz i only had liabilty and insurance doesnt cover my car.

Im fine, just airbag burn and sore back/neck, Other guy was high and got arrested for possession... Report said there were 0 injuries so i guess hes fine too lol

After rims:

After Drop:

Aftermath:

Acura TL I hit:

and for my next car, its gonna be the silver jetta in the background of first drop picture.. my uncles sellin it to me for 2400 with a new engine and turbo... Oh and my rims will fit on it..

If anybody wants parts, tell me what u need before i junk it. The cell is 847 409 0315. Im not on here much so just text me. Let me know ur from the org and how much ull pay for whatever parts u need.

*edit*
I already took rims so 02 altima 2.5 s steelies are on it, i have drilled and slotted rotors(still decent) and ceramic pads, also in decent shape.. I took the battery, the leds, the headlight bulbs, the stereo, speakers, subs&wires, intake, and strut bar..
All the interior parts are good tho and i have my door trim off the car sprayed black if anyone wants it....

I would fix her if i could, but shes dead. The frame is bent to hell, radiator is shot, oil pours out if i can get it running.. Oh and the core support is pushed about 3-6" back.

When I try to think of the worst possible place for brakes to fail, it's where Rte 59 crosses 75th, coming down 75th from the east..dang ol' dang, if your brakes go out there it's a pretty steep downhill and nobody can see you from either side. Boned hard.

Sucks that it had to happen to you. Hope you're all right and the other guy, too. Good luck with the Jetta - I like Jettas of that vintage, but keep up with your maintenance or it'll give you hell. They really feel good to drive and it'll look great with those wheels.

hey aakshun the interior is tan but i had black center vents(junkyard).. BUT my dumbass cousin decided to "convince" the vents to come out without askin me how and broke the pass side... but the other vents are all ugly brown... if anyone wants any specific engine parts that arent in the front of the engine(smashed on rad), ie intake manifold, coil packs, coil pack cover thing, ect, ill gladly take em out... im doin the part out to help u guys, not to make money, so just let me know if theres anything at all that u guys need..

and im cleanin my garage now for my datsun im gettin tomorrow tho, ('80 280zx) so like i said best way to contact is cell. Maxi should be getting junked tomorrow afternoon if everything goes right...

and ive got a really good yard near me so once again if anyone needs any parts from there, i can look. no guarantees but they keep a good amount of 4th gens...

and thanks j-dawg. The deal for the jetta is i go up there(WI), install his new engine and turbo and i get it for 2400. for a 2000 with under 80k, thats not a bad deal imo.

I was wondering, what was the cause of the brake failure?

what the hell causes the brakes to fail completely? e brake wasnt an option? if a 5 speed id just smash it into a low gear better to total the trans than the whole car. Sorry for the loss, I used to own VW r32 and have driven jetta's and can say v dubs are damn fine automobiles.

Sorry to bring a dead thread alive, but just to answer some questions, my mechanic had said the seals blew out (in the brake booster?) or something like that.. That would explain there being no leaking brake fluid, and yea it was auto and no e-brake. I tried throwing in reverse, and evidently that was why the wheels locked up at the white line, but it was still too late.

And I never got to buy the Jetta because it was going to cost my uncle too much to fix all the other problems(broken windshield, trans was screwed, needed a new turbo, needed paint job, ect).. So im still without a ride lol.

But the 280zx is for sale, $1200, but ill let it go for $800 to org members. Just posted it up in the classifieds here.

I had sort of the same thing happen to me, but I was in my Beetle 1.8t on 88 and getting off on 59. Two things stopped me from crashing - the incline of the off ramp and the tall roof on the Beetle, because I was standing on the brakes with both feet! Luckily for me, my in-laws live in Aurora and my father-in-law had a shop at the time. Now it's sitting in my garage w/ bad rear brakes, clutch, and timing belt.

Sorry about your Max and not being able to get the Jetta on the road. I had a '00 VR6 too and as you can see I enjoyed driving the 1.8t a bit more.

Dude, I've fixed WORSE looking 4th gens than that and they turned out looking damn good for doing the work myself in the garage! do you still have the Max? I helped quite a few members here and on Chicago Nissan Club with their radiator support replacement as well as fixing my cousins Max which looked just like yours after the accident she had. She spent about 300-400 in parts including OEM rad support

Wait, some 1995 SE's didn't come with an E-Brake?

Huh, mine has one so I figured it was standard.
