Replacement Key with Transponder - cheap place
Replacement Key with Transponder - cheap place
I recently lost one my keys and have researched how much it would cost to get a replacement.
Dealer wants $190 for a OEM new key programmed.
Most locksmiths in my area (northern NJ) want between $120 to $150 to reprogram an existing blank key that I would supply. (was thinking about getting one off of ebay)
Found a guy in North Bergen, NJ (carkeypros.com) who wants $75 for a new key, cut, and reprogrammed. I don't think you can beat that price.
Obviously the cheapest solution would be to take the chip out of my existing key and tape it close to the ignition and then get the simple copies of the key made at the hardware store or home depot.
Anyways, just wanted to share this with anyone from northern NJ looking to get a replacement key.
