Has anyone installed 6 x 9s in the rear deck yet?

Well, I am tired of those small 6.5" in the back.. So i am thinking of cutting the deck and put some 6x9s in it.. has anyone tried it yet? help me out with suggestions and comments please.

Thanks

don't do it.. sound is round my friend.. you get better sound out of 6 1/2's.. maybe you have been using the wrong ones.. check out Diamond Hex Components.. they are a bit pricey.. but ask anyone who has heard them in my car.. they blow away any speaker in a $200 price range.. and they take up to 100 watts check sweetsound on the org for prices

Right now i have RF 6.5s in the back and they can take upto 150W.. I think the problem is the WRONG wiring of the AMP to the rear speakers.. but as ur advice i will keep 6.5s caz i have RFs components in the front and they sound awesome.. i will prob get components in the back and be happy after checking the wiring.. caz my rears get blown all the time.. hey where did u mount the tweeters?

150w PEAK.. i am talking about 120W RMS.. Diamonds are 1 of 3 speakers on the common market that will take that much power.. those RF's are probably 50w RMS if that much..

I had my tweeters in the door.. Diamond Hex's will blow away RF's, MB Quartz and JL Components.. ask my buddy delio he now owns my full Diamond system

Pioneer? Pioneer? muhahah.. those are what most cars come with stock.. you are comparing Pioneer to Diamond Audio Hex's? you are not a car audio enthusiast are you?

hey Max4Speed... go post in the Audio forum.. tell them you are thikning about Diamond Audio Hex 6 1/2's or Pioneer 6x9's.. see how quick they answer that question

Ok maybe i didn't make myself clear in the beggining..

if you want a little boom boom and a nice little system to impress your friends.. you can add 6x9's..

if you want sound quality and clarity .. then you keep 6 1/2's

OK Sprint why dont you pick on the newbies now

First off sound quality on a pioneer is fine and if you ever tell me i dont know anything about car audio ever again its your A$$. I owned my own audio shop for three years got tired of it and sold the company, secondly i dont think you have two Orion HCCA 12" in your whip(w/1000w rms and 1500-2000w max, im only running 800rms each right now though.) which i do believe have won ever major audio comp in the last couple of years (thats high db's and sound quality) so ok man what ever you say.

the ones i had in the rear were 6mx3 .. personally i did not have hex's for the front stage.. i had M561's .. they are a step down.. but in the audio shop where i spent 1 1/2 hours listening to 20 CD's i found these to have better front stage.. even though others have told me i am lying .. i didn't have that muddy mid bass that the MB Quartz and Hex gave for front stage.. but some people like that.. the M561's have great front stage.. email Anton... he can get you prices on anything you need sweetsound2001@hotmail.com and he is on the org .. so you can find datass

you can check them out at http://www.diamondaudio.com

the Hex have Kevlar Cone .. and the M561's have Mag Aluminum cone..

I am confused too.. i never said anything about Orion? right now in my Max .. i have a stock deck and ONE front door speaker don't ask...

pioneer is ok.. if you are listening to the stock deck.. put some amplified power to those pioneers and they are history..

Who wants speakers? I had Diamond Audio in kick panels in my max and they sounded incredible. Go to my website for pics of my current setup. I will probably be switching back to Diamond Audio very soon as I blew my A/D/S tweeter again
